Since September 2011, as a result of my Google Summer of Code QGIS mobile project, QGIS is available for Android. As the maintainer and main developer behind QGIS for android I’m striving to improve it as much as possible. All my work is done in voluntary base, so if you can, consider supporting the development by using the donate button on the right.
Another great way of helping developing QGIS for android is sponsoring the development of specific features.

This was really odd to read due to being written in third person.

changed it, I’m remodeling my website and was in the “third person mode” 🙂

Excellent job porting QGIS to Android! Very stable and very fast, even on my HP Touchpad running CM9 Alpha 2.

Fabio · 2012-06-10 at 16:02

Hi Marco, according to your opinion is android.gsis already competitive vs tablets pc with windows 7, where I could use my windows version of Qgis?

    marco · 2012-06-22 at 12:20

Unfortunately not yet due to its alpha status but as soon as it gets a bit stabler, definetly.

Hi!
I ‘ve got a problem with Qgis for android version 1.9.90-Alpha…in a Tablet Samsung Galaxy GT-P7500 with an OS Android 3.2
An error log says me that Couldn’t load Python support library…Library ‘libqgispython,so’ not found…
I install and uninstall several times and the result was wrong…
Do you know where I can take it?
Grazie mille!

Realy develope the application for qgis android?

    marco · 2012-07-14 at 13:58

    Hi Maedeh,
well there are many things that I still need to implement, for sure commissioning of stability improvements and python support are the most important now.
How do you mean If I really develop the app? I do, just now I’ve couple of other things going on so less time for volunteer work…
So If you can consider commissioning or donating.
    ciao

Thanks in advance.

    marco · 2012-07-30 at 16:11

mmm which version are you using?

Zahari · 2012-08-01 at 13:43

Hi Marco,
thank you for your wonderful work.
I don’t have Android device, but i test QGIS Android on Windows 7 through bluestacks “player” https://bluestacks.com/. QGIS works, but have some problems with stability. When I start Plugins->Manage Plugins … there isn’t any plugin available. My be plugins will be available after implementation of Python support?

Is it possible to get the list of coordinate reference systems to show up in Project properties? It shows the headings – Geographic, Projected and User Defined, but nothing to choose from. Same thing when I add a WMS layer and want to tell which coordinate system to show it in. Would be awesome if I could add a WMS. Says “No CRS Selected”. Doesn’t let you add the WMS layer until you give it a coordinate system.

    marco · 2012-11-12 at 07:30

go to settings>options>locale and set it from there

Andrew · 2013-07-29 at 18:29

Hi Marco, does the OpenStreetMaps/Google Earth plugin work on the QGIS Android version? It works really well on the PC version on Windows 7 but when I click “Plugins”, “Manage Plugins” on my Android version (using a Google Nexus 7 tablet) nothing happens.
